Zarkoski, Davies Selected For NFHCA Senior Game

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Seniors Anna Zarkoski and Chelsea Davies of the Richmond field hockey team have been selected to represent the Spiders in the 2013 Front Rush NFHCA Division I Senior Game on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Virginia Beach, Va.
“I am thrilled both Anna and Chelsea will represent Richmond at the senior all-star game during the final four weekend,” commented Richmond head coach Gina Lucido. “Both young women have proven themselves as elite competitors with excellent sportsmanship. We celebrate this honor greatly as they bring worthy recognition to our program.”
In the pool of 38 athletes, just two other Atlantic 10 schools join Davies and Zarkoski, including Stephanie Demasi of VCU and UMass' Hannah Prince and Alexa Sikalis.
Davies has started all 17 games this season for Richmond and has connected on four goals, including one game-winner and has dished out five assists for 13 points.
Zarkoski has started all 17 games in goal for the Spiders and has recorded 72 saves, only allowed 15 goals, which is good for a 0.86 goals against average that leads the nation.
The Spiders will conclude their regular season this weekend, hosting La Salle Friday at 3:30 p.m. before welcoming Saint Joseph's Sunday at 12 p.m. at Crenshaw Field.
