THE SERIES
This is the second meeting between the two teams as they last met a year ago in the Robins Center. The Spiders downed the Aggies, 76-63, on Nov. 28, 2012. Three Spiders led Richmond in double figures, including Kristina King and Lauren Tolson who both added 13 apiece. The Spiders outrebounded A&T, 38-33, and shot 44.4 percent from the field.
THE SPIDERS
The Spiders are coming off a tough loss to the James Madison Dukes this past Thursday night, falling, 78-68, at the Robins Center. Freshman Olivia Healy is off to a fantastic start to young collegiate career as she leads the team with 11.5 points per game with 5.8 rebounds per game.
THE AGGIES
The Aggies enter Sunday coming off a 62-53 win over the Davidson Wildcats Thursday night. A&T is 3-1 on the season and is shooting 42.7 percent from the field and averaging 34.0 rebounds per game. Christina Carter leads the team with 16.3 points per game with 4.0 rebounds per game. Tracy King is the only other Aggie averaging double-figure points with 14.8 on the year.
LAST TIME OUT
Despite three Spiders in double-figures, the Richmond women's basketball team fell to the James Madison Dukes, 78-68, Thursday night at the Robins Center. Sophomore Lauren Tolson with a career-high 16 points and six rebounds led Richmond, while redshirt-junior Genevieve Okoro and freshman Janelle Hubbard both added 15 points apiece. Okoro also led the team with seven rebounds. The two teams battled in the first as the Dukes went into the intermission only up by one, but the Spiders were outscored 41-32 in the second as James Madison clinched the victory. The Spiders shot 42.3 percent from the field and hit 3-of-7 from behind the arc for the best shooting night of the season.
UP NEXT
The Spiders will continue on the road Wednesday, Nov. 27 to face Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., at Cassell Coliseum. Tip off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
