Field Hockey Collects Eight All-Conference Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond field hockey team collected eight Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors Wednesday in voting conducted among the conference's coaches.
This is the most conference honors the Spiders have collected in a single season since joining the A-10 in 2002.
Spider seniors Anna Zarkoski and Chelsea Davies, juniors Samantha Ostoich and Rebecca Barry and sophomore Amy Cooke earned First-Team All-Atlantic 10 honors.
Sophomore Taylor Deitrick earned Second-Team All-Atlantic 10 honors, while freshmen Kelly Quinn and Emma Johansson were placed on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie squad.
Barry, who is making her third appearance on the A-10 First-Team, led the Spiders with 15 goals, seven assists and 37 points, finishing the season 15th in the nation in goals per game.
Davies, who earned All-Atlantic 10 honors for the fourth time in as many seasons, including her third straight First-Team appearance, leads the team in assists with eight. Deitrick was second on the team with nine goals and 19 points.
Richmond has placed a Spider on the All-Rookie team for the past eight seasons. Johansson ranks third on the squad with eight goals, one assist and 17 points. Quinn has found the back of the cage four times with four assists on the year.
Zarkoski earned All-Conference honors for the third-straight season after making 78 saves in 19 games with a 0.83 goals against average, which ranks her second in the nation.
Ostoich and Cooke were crucial in the midfield and backline, respectively, for Richmond. Ostoich finished the regular season with five goals, three assists and 13 points. Cooke found the back of the cage four times for the Spiders and is second on the squad in assists with seven.
Richmond's defense held opponents to 0.89 goals per game and has shutout seven teams this season.
The Spiders finished the season 13-6 overall and heads into this weekend's Atlantic 10 Tournament with a No. 2 seed and will face Lock Haven on Friday at 11 a.m. in Amherst, Mass.
