A-10 Championship Blog: Tuesday Edition

Painesville, OH - The "eel" has landed. We're here and settled.
As part of our preparation for this meet, we plan for unexpected events and unfavorable conditions. We discuss the things that could go wrong, and strategize a gameplan if they do. The probability of all of these events happening is near zero, but it's a useful drill. When something does go "wrong," this group rolls with it. No heavy sighs. No eye-rolls. No additional drama. They maturely process it and move on. Today, we experience a delayed flight and blinding batch of snow. And they rolled with it.
We also planned for a very fast pool, and it appears this pool will deliver our wish. 10 lanes, deep, bright, effective gutters...but all of this doesn't matter unless we fire up the engines.
We'll get to the pool in the morning to "push buttons" and prepare to be very fast. It will be our last "practice" before the meet begins. Erica Elias and Katherine Cook will start us off tomorrow with the 1m diving event. We'll also score the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Relay tomorrow evening. Let's do it! We love relays.
