Wo Men's Lacrosse Stopped By No. 8 Virginia

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond led at the break, but No. 8 Virginia pulled away in the second half for an 13-7 win Wednesday night at Robins Stadium.
The Spiders (0-4) led 7-6 at the break over the eighth-ranked Cavaliers thanks to two goals from Jennifer Zoltoski, Sam Stevenson and Caitlin Fifield. Bailey Zerr added the other score for Richmond.
Virginia (2-0) would respond in the second half, holding the Spiders scoreless as it rattled off seven-straight goals to take the win.
Richmond squared off against its fourth-straight top-10 opponent (and ACC foe) in Virginia Wednesday. Richmond grabbed a game-high 20 ground balls, while Emily Boyce made 13 saves in goal.
Fifield registered a team-high three points with two goals and an assist. Tara Coyle recorded a team-high four ground balls.
Richmond returns to action next Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. when it hosts American at Robins Stadium.
