Five Spiders Score In Double Figures In Win Over Xavier

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond men's basketball team had five players score in double-figures as the Spiders edged Xavier, 73-71, Saturday at the Robins Center.
The Spiders improved to 12-1 at home, knocking off an A-10 leader for the third-straight home game. Richmond won its fifth-straight game at the Robins Center, while improving to 4-0 against A-10 opponents at home.
Richmond has won three of the last six meetings against the Musketeers (12-9, 5-3 Atlantic 10).
Playing with a sprained knee, sophomore Kendall Anthony toughed it out Saturday, making three first-half three-pointers on his way to a team-high 16 points. Redshirt freshman Alonzo Nelson-Ododa scored a career-high 13 points, making 4-of-6 from the field, grabbing a team-high eight rebounds and blocking four shots.
Senior Darien Brothers also scored 13 points and Greg Robbins recorded a career-high seven assists.
After a week off, Richmond will host Saint Louis, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. in a game televised locally on WTVR Channel 6.
