Richmond Visits Rival GW Wednesday

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond plays at rival GW Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the nation's capital.
Scouting GW
The Colonials come into Wednesday's game with a 9-12 mark,
3-4 in A-10 play. GW is led by Megan Nipe and Tara Booker who both score 9.8
points per game. GW has two more contributors that score over nine points a
game in Danni Jackson and Shi-Heria Shipp. GW has won two of its last three
games, with victories over Rhode Island and La Salle. In the Colonials' last
home game, they suffered a double-overtime loss to Duquesne, 63-59 Jan. 30. GW
is 5-4 at home this season, 1-2 in A-10 play. The Colonials grab 38.8 rebounds
a game and dish 13.2 assists per game. GW's 10.7 steals per game ranks third in
the A-10. The Colonials look for their first win over Richmond since 2008. GW's
last win against the Spiders at home was a 78-51 victory Feb. 10, 2008.
Richmond Lately
Richmond gave No. 17 Dayton all it
could handle, but fell 72-64 Sunday on ESPNU at the Robins Center. Three
Spiders scored in double-figures, with Kristina King and Becca Wann each
scoring 15 points. Wann added 11 rebounds for her fourth-career double-double.
Rachael Bilney added 14 points, including four threes. Sam Bilney played well
defensively, grabbing six steals and dishing six assists. Richmond forced 19
Dayton turnovers. The Spiders are led in scoring by King's 13.3 ppg, followed
by Rachael Bilney's 11.3 ppg. Becca Wann is leading the team with 62 assists or
2.95 apg. The Spiders are shooting 39 percent from the field, 32 percent from
long-range. The Spiders have made 73 percent of their free-throws. Richmond
looks for its ninth-straight win over GW Wednesday.

win the series Wednesday. The Spiders trail the all-time series, 13-19 but have
won the last eight games between the two teams, including four-straight in
Washington, D.C.
