UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Eleven Spiders scored as Richmond dominated St. Bonaventure, 22-8, Sunday afternoon at Robins Stadium.
The 22 goals was one score shy of tying a season-high (Richmond scored 23 in a win over ODU Mar. 5). Richmond set a school-record for points in a game (34) previously eclipsing a total (33) it recorded in a win over Longwood in 2011.
Richmond (5-10, 2-3) led 10-5 at the break and used four-consecutive goals to start the second half to put the game out of reach.
Caitlin Fifield led Richmond with nine points (4g, 5a), while Bailey Zerr scored a career-high four goals. Adding to the highlights was Charlett Stevenson scoring her the first two goals of her career and Amanda Johnston adding her first goal of the season.
Sam Stevenson added a hat trick, while three other Spiders added two goals apiece. Tara Coyle, Anna Jeszeck and Bailey Zerr all picked up three ground balls, while Zerr added to her stellar day by securing a team-high six draw controls. Taylor Blazer caused a team-high three turnovers.
Richmond won the draw, 21-10 and the ground ball category, 15-12. Freshman goalkeeper Michaela Aymong started the game for Richmond, recording one save. Emily Boyce played the second half, recording three saves.
St. Bonaventure (5-8, 0-4) was led by Jenna Schalgenhauf's two goals.
Richmond hosts Saint Joe's Friday, Apr. 19 at 4 p.m. for senior day. The Spider seniors will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
