Barry Named A-10 Player Of The Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior Rebecca Barry of the Richmond field hockey team was named A-10 Field Hockey Player of the Week for her efforts against Saint Louis this past weekend, announced the conference office Monday afternoon.
A native of Limerick, Ireland, Barry led the Spiders to a 5-0 shutout against the Saint Louis Billikens this past Sunday for Richmond's fourth A-10 victory. The senior midfielder connected on four of the five Spider goals to lead both teams with 11 shots and seven on goal.
Barry's four goals marked a career-high for the senior and sits tied for second all-time in a game at Richmond. She now is fourth all-time in goals (52) and in points (127) in the Spider record book.
The Spiders will be back in action this weekend when they make their second trip to Philadelphia, Pa., this season. Richmond will face Saint Francis Friday at 3 p.m., before heading to Drexel Sunday at 12 p.m.
