Spider Hockey Set For Final Road Trip This Season

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond field hockey team hits the road for the final time this season as it travels to Philadelphia to take on Saint Francis Friday, before heading to Drexel Sunday.

The Spiders are coming off a 1-1 weekend split after taking the No. 3-ranked Virginia Cavaliers to the wire with a 2-1 loss Friday, before cruising past Saint Louis 5-0 Sunday. Richmond picked up its fourth A-10 win Sunday over the Billikens as Rebecca Barry hit four of the five goals in the victory.
BARRY NAMED A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior Rebecca Barry was named A-10 Field Hockey A-10 Player of the Week Monday afternoon. The native of Limerick, Ireland led the Spiders to a 5-0 shutout against the Saint Louis Billikens this past Sunday for Richmond's fourth A-10 victory. The senior midfielder connected on four of the five Spider goals to lead both teams with 11 shots and seven on goal. Barry's four goals marked a career-high for the senior and sits tied for second all-time in a game at Richmond. She now is fourth all-time in goals (52) and in points (127) in the Spider record book.
