Spider Hockey Hosts A-10 Foe Lock Haven Friday

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond field hockey team returns to Crenshaw Field this Friday, Oct. 24 to host A-10 foe Lock Haven at 4 p.m. to start a three-game homestand to close the regular season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Spiders are coming off a tough loss to Drexel this past Sunday as Richmond took the Dragons to strokes and fell 2-1. After the first half, the Spiders took control in the 42nd minute from a goal by Samantha Ostoich. Richmond held on to the lead until the 64th minute when Drexel timed the score. Following two scoreless extra periods, the Dragons connected on three strokes to secure the victory. Sunday marks the first time this season the Spiders went into a shootout.
ON TOP OF THE CONFERENCE
Richmond started off last weekend with an important matchup against a tough A-10 opponent Saint Francis. The Spiders went ahead and defeated the Red Flash 1-0 to take the lead in the conference standings this week. Richmond will take on the Eagles Friday and will host Davidson Sunday, Nov. 2 for its final A-10 matchups.
