Team Notes
- In his first trip to Liberty as an opposing coach, Spider head coach Danny Rocco beat his former team, 46-39 in double overtime.
- The overtime is the first for Rocco in his tenure at Richmond and the first for the Spiders since beating James Madison, 13-10, in overtime on November 6, 2010.
- The overtime game was the 12th in program history, with Richmond improving to 11-1 in those contests, including a perfect 5-0 mark on the road.
- Dating back to 2005, Richmond is 21-1 against non-conference, FCS opponents.
- In his nine seasons as a head coach, Danny Rocco is now 31-6 against the Big South. At Richmond, Rocco is 5-1 against Big South squads.
- With the win, Richmond extended its winning streak to 15 games over non-conference, FCS opponents from Virginia.
Player Notes
- RB Seth Fisher recorded his second career 100-yard rushing game, totaling a career-high 132 yards on 23 carries to go with two rushing touchdowns.
- Fisher also caught a pair of touchdown receptions in the game, setting a new career-high with four. Fisher's four TDs rank in a tie for fifth all-time on Richmond's single-game TD list.
- Fisher also tied his career-high with four receptions in the game, totaling 23 yards.
- With his three-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter, WR Stephen Barnette moved in to a tie for fourth place all-time on the school's career receiving touchdown list.
- LB Omar Howard's game-winning interception in the second overtime was the first of his career.
- WR Brian Brown recorded his second-straight 100-yard game and the fourth of his career against the Flames, totaling nine catches for 125 yards.
- QB Michael Strauss recorded his first career-rushing touchdown in the second quarter, running it in from one yard out.
- WR Reggie Diggs had a career-high nine receptions against Liberty, going for 82 yards.
