Spider Hockey Returns Home For Two This Weekend

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond field hockey team is back in action this weekend as it hosts No. 3-ranked Virginia Cavaliers Friday at 5:30 p.m., before welcoming A-10 foe Saint Louis Sunday at noon.

LAST TIME OUT
The Spiders are coming off a split weekend as it traveled up to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on A-10 opponents Saint Joseph's and La Salle. Richmond cruised pasted the Hawks, 5-0, with four different Spiders finding the back of the cage Friday, but then fell to the Explorers 2-1 Sunday. Freshman Kasey Gilbride led the squad with six points, notching two goals on Friday and having the lone Spider goal Sunday.
TOP-20 OPPONENTS
Richmond has faced some tough opponents this year, as Virginia is the fourth nationally ranked squad that the Spiders will play. Richmond opened the season with a 4-1 win over No. 19 American, and then later faced No. 19 Michigan State and No. 12 Wake Forest. On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Spiders will welcome the Duke Blue Devils to Crenshaw Field who has a national ranking of No. 9 this week.
