RS.com: Why did you choose Richmond?
Peter Bayer: I chose the University of Richmond because it gave me the opportunity to get a great education while playing baseball at a high level. There isn't much else you can ask for.
RS: Three words that describe you best…
PB: Persistent, ambitious, uncommon
RS: Favorite MLB team?
PB: Colorado Rockies
RS: Favorite MLB player of all-time?
PB: Felix Hernandez
RS: What is your dream job?
PB: To play professional baseball.
RS: Any pregame superstitions?
PB: I always have to drink green sour melon Powerade when I pitch. Whether it's while I am starting or in relief. I believe they are magic for me, plus they are delicious. Besides that, I pray before I first get on the mound.
RS: One thing most people don't know about you?
PB: I am also a hip-hop producer and work on that during my free time outside of baseball and school.
RS: Biggest accomplishment?
PB: So far, it is winning the 5A state championship at Regis Jesuit HS my junior year. I got to start the game on the mound and it was our first state championship at our high school since 1988.
RS: Best piece of advice you've been given by a coach?
PB: “Play the game hard, and play the game right.” - Walt Weiss (former HS coach)
RS: Best memory from playing little league?
PB: Playing in the Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament when I was 12.
