
Richmond Drops A-10 Road Contest At Rhode Island

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Richmond men's basketball team lost at Rhode Island 66-43 on Saturday afternoon.
The Spiders struggled in the first half for the second-straight game, trailing 31-15 at the break.
Richmond shot just 21.1 percent for the game and only 10.5 percent from three as they dropped to 18-11 and 8-6 in the Atlantic 10.
Sophomore Terry Allen led the Spiders with 15 points, for his fifth time in double-figures in the last seven games.
Junior Kendall Anthony scored eight points and freshman ShawnDre' Jones had seven.
E.C. Matthews led the Rams with 19 points and Xavier Munford had 15. Gilvydas Biruta (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Hassan Martin (10 points, 13 rebounds) both posted double-doubles.
Richmond returns to action on Thursday when it plays its final home game of the season against city-rival VCU at 9 p.m. in the Bank of America Capital City Classic.
