King Earns A-10 All-Conference, All-Defensive Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior Kristina King of the Richmond women's basketball team was named to the 2013-14 Atlantic 10 All-Conference third team as well as the All Defensive team, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
The senior leads the team with 12.1 points per game in all 29 games played this season. King has tallied 15 double-digit scoring games, four 20-point games and three five-steal games, while leading the team with 58 steals this season. She also is tied for second in steals with averaging 2.0 steals per game in the conference.
King set a career-high 29 points to lead the Spiders over the Fordham Rams in a double-overtime victory at the Robins Center in February. And opened the season with two-straight five-steal games.
This is the first postseason King has collected A-10 honors.
The Spiders will open the 2013-14 Atlantic 10 First Round Thursday, March 6 against city-rival VCU at 12 p.m. at the Richmond Coliseum.
