Track & Field Heads To The JMU Quad Invitational

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va.- The Richmond track and field team travels to Harrisonburg, Va. today for the James Madison Quad Invitational. The one-day meet will take place at University Park Satdium.
The field events are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. with the hammer throw, while the track events are slated to begin at 3:45 p.m. with the 4x100m relay.
The Spiders have 22 women competing over the course of the day.
LAST TIME OUT
Senior Jill Prentice recorded the best finish of the day for Richmond (5000m), crossing the finish line in 17:20.98. Sophomore Tara Hanley also turned in a solid performance in the 5000-meter run, finishing 10th (17:58.08).
After breaking the school record in the 4x200m relay at last weekends Colonial Relays, the team of Mary Allen,Amber Young, Deborah Fajuyigbe, and Janel Francis earned a third-place finish in the 4x100m relay (47.03).
Senior Kelsey McKenna set a new personal record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.68.
In the field events, Janel Francis recorded a distance of 5.42m in the long jump, which earned her seventh-place. Amanda Thatcher claimed 14th place in the long jump with a jump of 4.94m.
