Richmond women's lacrosse senior midfielder Hayley Ross (Annapolis, Maryland) has one more game left in her. The UR graduate was named to the 22-member Division I South squad for the 2014 North-South All-Star Game, which will take place on Saturday, June 7 at Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania.
“Being named to the team means a lot to me,” said Ross. “It sums up a year's worth of hardwork and a lifetime of dedication.”
The Division I game starts at 11:30 a.m., ahead of the Division II and III games later that day. The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association named the teams and will run the games. In total, 132 senior student-atheltes in three divisions were selected to participate by the IWLCA.
“I'm proud of all of her accomplishments and the way she developed as a player and a leader for us this year,” said Richmond head coach Allison Evans on her selection. “It's an honor to be named to the North/South squad and we're excited that she'll have another opportunity to play while representing Richmond.”
Ross finished her four-year career earlier this month, with the third-most goals on the squad, with 27. She also finished third on the team with 27 ground balls and 20 draws. She caused 14 turnovers, second-most on the squad this season. For her career, Ross scored 60 goals, adding 24 assists in 70 games played for the Spiders. She received her diploma in Art History and Studio Art earlier this month.
