Blazer Adds Final Honor As VaSID First-Team For WLAX

Richmond graduate defender Taylor Blazer (Berlin, Md.) and rising senior attack Emily Doyle (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) were named to the first and second team All-State squads, as announced by the Virignia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Monday.
Blazer, who was earlier named the 2014 Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year, was ranked as the third-most impactful defender at LaxPower.com, one of only 12 players with a rating above 90, one of only three with a rating above 97 for the season
Blazer and Doyle earned First-Team All-League honors by the A-10.
Blazer finished first in the conference by winning 3.61 draw controls per game... Her 65 total pushed her into a tie for the school's all-time career leader, with 159 to match Caroline McGuire (2003-06)... Blazer was also second in the league with a team-leading average of 2.61 ground balls per contest (47 total). She also helped the team set a new record low of 7.83 goals allowed per game
Doyle set a new career high with 33 assists, second-most in a season in program history... She was third in the league in assists per game and fifth in points per contest.
