Twice a month, we'll visit with a different Spider student-athlete in the Spider Spotlight.
Meet Blair…
Career aspirations: To run a gym with my best friend Kendall who plays for VCU.
Three words to describe yourself: A listener, a competitor and a goofball.
Most memorable moment as a member of your Spider program: Our preseason white water rafting team activity.
The best nickname on the team: "NC" which means Nerd Camp for Sam Ostoich or "Aves Babe" for Avery Safford.
Strengths: I would say posting up and using my body to protect and or win the ball.
Toughest opponents: I love when we play VCU. I think it's mentally one of the toughest games, along with UMass, because it's always a close battle until the end.
Working to improve: I am playing midfield this year, so I have a lot that Chelsea has been working with me on, but I'd say leading back to the ball, receiving on the move, and taking it on the upturn.
Best sports memory: Scoring a reverse flick goal from the top of the circle at festival one year.
Favorite meal: Anything my dad decides to cook up on the grill!
Favorite ice cream: If I had to just pick one, bubble gum flavor!
On your playlist: A plethora of genres! Everything from Christian to country to house music.
Most embarrassing thing on your playlist: Probably the beep test soundtrack.
If you have one wish: To swim with elephants in Thailand.
If you could go on any game show: Minute to Win It with my brother DJ!
Hidden talent: I can make a car alarm sound with my voice, seriously. (Check out the Instagram video if you don't believe her!)
Dream car: Lime Green 4 Door Jeep Wrangler.
If you could travel anywhere in the world: Tahiti with my momma! :) It has always been our dream vacation.
Favorite class: Photography, but if I picked it on the professor, which is so vital, I would pick any class in my major with Dr. Achter.
Hero: I don't know if I have a hero, but my mom is someone I strive to be like everyday.
Favorite childhood TV show: Rocket Power or Wild Thornberrys.
If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive: My grandfather, who is an Olympic medalist, that died when I was one. I have heard such amazing stories about him.
If you could have any superpower: Teleportation, for sure.
