Kyle Lauletta Named CAA Player Of The Week

RICHMOND, Va - University of Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta has been named CAA Player of the Week as announced by league officials on Monday morning.
The Spiders (3-1, 1-0 CAA) came out firing on Saturday afternoon and never backed off, burying the visiting Maine Black Bears (1-3, 1-1 CAA), 48-17, to begin CAA play with a big victory.
QB Kyle Lauletta tossed for a career-high 311 yards, threw four touchdowns, also a career high and a rushed for a score in his first start opposite a CAA opponent. He ranks second in the CAA averaging 247.5 yards per game through the air and leads the league with an efficiency rating of 162.9. He is also second in the league averging 256.2 yards of total offense per game.
The sophomore will guide the No. 16-ranked Spiders this week opposite Elon (2-3, 1-1 CAA) looking to start 2-0 in the CAA for the second-consecutive season. Kick off from Robins Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

- Set a career mark with four touchdown passes, coming from 75 yards, 29 yards, 27 yards and 23 yards out, respectively.

Dalton Crossan | RB | New Hampshire
- Set career highs with 22 carries and 140 yards in New Hampshire's 37-14 victory over Elon.
- Ran for a career-best four touchdowns – all of which came in the first half as UNH built a 34-7 lead.
- Averaged 6.4 yards-per-carry while eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the first time as a Wildcat.
Defensive Player of the Week
Gage Steele | LB | James Madison
- Piled up a career-best 18 tackles for James Madison as the Dukes improved to 5-0 with a win over Stony Brook.
- The 18 tackles matched CAA Football's season high.
- Also notched 1.5 tackles-for-loss as JMU held Stony Brook to just 2.5 yards-per-carry as a team.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Harold Cooper | RB | Rhode Island
- Returned three kickoffs for 183 yards, including a 92-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter of Rhode Island's narrow loss to Brown.
- The 92-yard return was the longest in CAA Football this season and fifth-longest in URI program history.
- Added 109 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Rams on offense.
Rookie of the Week
Thomas Jefferson | RB | Delaware
- Totaled 28 carries for 174 yards – both of which were career highs – in Delaware's 24-23 win over nationally-ranked William & Mary.
- Became the first Blue Hen freshman with back-to-back 100-yard rushing performances since 2010.
- Has now posted 338 rushing yards since taking over the starting role in Delaware's last two games.
