Richmond Diving Competes In Greensboro Saturday
11/07/2015 | Women's Swimming & Diving
Richmond divers will compete Saturday against Clemson and East Carolina in Greensboro, North Carolina Saturday morning, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in a double-dual meet.
Junior Irina Chiulli (Westwood, Massachusetts) has improved her 3m scores in all three meets so far this season, twice scoring above the Zone-qualifying level. In her last meet, she was just 15 points away from her previous regular-season best score, set last November. Her first two meets saw scores on the 1m also eclipsing the Zone-qualifying standard, including a personal-best 286.20 in the Richmond Duals in October.
Sophomore Laura Rokop (Wildwood, Missouri) has also posted a personal-best score of 261.67 in the 3m for her previous program at Virginia Tech on October 30. She was Richmond's top scorer in the 1m at that event.
Junior Mikaela Gekas-Robinson (Woodbury, New Jersey) set a new personal best 233.63 in her last 3m competition at Virginia Tech. Her 1m program score of 189.67 was better than her last meet of 2014-15 and is a season-best score entering this weekend.
Following this competition, the divers will join the swimmers for the three-day Patriot Invitational, starting Thursday, November 19.
