Last Time Out
Richmond fell behind Furman (5-2) early and even battled back to take a lead in the second half but it was the visitors who had more down the stretch on Tuesday night to come away with the, 69-62, victory at the Robins Center. Janelle Hubbard provided the bulk of the highlight reel, pouring in 22 points on 9-21 shooting which included a 3-5 mark from deep range. Tuesday marks the third time this season that Hubbard has gone north of 20 points and is the second-consecutive such performance.
Hubbard's counterparts in the backcourt, Micaela Parson and Lauren Tolson, each added 16 points with Tolson supplying five rebounds and Parson handing out a career-best six assists. Parson also nabbed a quartet of steals. All three produced double-digit scoring nights in the same game for the fourth time this season. Of Richmond's 23 made shots, 21 came from this trio.
Lock Down
Through the five games this season Richmond ranked second in the A-10 in scoring defense (54.4 ppg), first in field goal percentage defense (.327), second in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.235) and third in rebounding defense (35.5). The Spiders did not allow more than 62 points in a single game during that span and held opponents below 60 points four times.
