Spider Swim/Dive Vies For 2015 A-10 Title in Ohio

Richmond swimming and diving has made its way to Geneva, Ohio to compete for the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships, this Wednesday through Saturday, February 18-21.

The Spiders have won the previous four Championships, and 12 of the 13 in which they have competed since joining the Atlantic 10 Conference.
During the course of the season, the Spiders have captured eight different Performer or Rookie of the Week honors by the A-10. Freshman swimmer Annie Lane (Vinton, Virginia / William Byrd HS) has won three Rookies of the Week awards, while sophomore diver Irina Chiulli (Westwood, Massachusetts) won a pair of Performers of the Week. Freshmen Erin Barry (Millington, New Jersey) and Laura Rokop (Carmal, Indiana) both took home one of the league's Rookie of the Week awards, while senior Anna Fetter (Westfield, New Jersey) took home Performer of the Week in late January.
The Spiders won the 2014 Championship by 152.5 points over Fordham, with Massachusetts coming in third, 26 points behind the Rams. This season, Davidson joined the league, making this year an 11-team affair.
The A-10 Championships are contested for the third year in a row at the SPIRE Institution in Geneva. It starts Wednesday with the women's 1m diving preliminary round at 3 p.m., ahead of the finals at 6:30 p.m., which will be ahead of two of the five relay events of the week, the 200 Medley and the 800 Free.
Preliminary rounds for individual swim events will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the final team hardware awarded on Saturday evening at the conclusion of that night's swimming, which culminates with the 400 Free relay.
