Spiders Picked Third In Patriot League Preseason Poll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Richmond women's golf team was picked to finish third in the Patriot League preseason poll on Wednesday.
2015 marks the first season in Patriot League competition for the Spiders after coming from the CAA.
“Being a new team to the Patriot League, we are happy to get some recognition from the coaches in the league,” head coach Ali Wright said. “We hope that throughout this spring we can keep improving and finish even higher by the end of the season.”
The Spiders will look to the new duo of Elsa and Sara Diaz who joined the Spiders this fall. Junior Jessica Lydia also had a strong fall and will be one of the teams' top performers, along with Kira Kuhnert, Tiarra Baskerville, Alicia Regginniani and Maria Pons Cano.
Richmond opens play this weekend at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic on Kiawah Island, S.C.
The 2015 Patriot League Women's Golf Championship will be played at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Maryland on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19.
