Richmond Finishes Well At Fred Hardy Invitational

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders track and field team finished up competition at the 10th annual Fred Hardy Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Richmond, Va.
The Richmond women took first place in the 4x800 relay on Saturday afternoon at Robins Stadium. Kaelyn Heinicke, Amanda Corbosiero, Stephanie Hughes, and Haley Preschutti finished the event in 9:15.46 – nearly 15 seconds faster than the second place finisher.
Spider senior Deborah Fajuyigbe continued to sprint past her competitors. She placed first overall in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.90 seconds. Teammate Janel Francis followed her in sixth place with a time of 25.25.
Richmond went one-two in the 3000 meters, with Jill Prentice taking first in a time of 9:49.68, while Courtney Thompson placed second at 9:58.92.
The Richmond Spiders track and field team will be back in action on April 3-4 when the team heads to Williamsburg, Va. to compete in the Colonial Relays.
