
Spider Track And Field Runs Well At Mason Invitational

FAIRFAX, Va. - The University of Richmond Spiders track and field team headed to Fairfax, Virginia Saturday to compete against the region's top teams in the George Mason Invitational.
Jade Gregory ran for sixth in the 400, clocking in at 56.33. She was followed by teammate Deborah Fajuyigbe, who placed ninth in the event.
Gregory and Fajuyigbe also saw success in the 4x100, where they were joined by Janel Francis and Amber Young for a seventh place finish.
Kelly Bailey started the distance portion of the meet for the Spiders, running the 3000 meter steeplechase, achieving a fifth place finish.
Freshman Liz Montague earned tenth in the triple jump. Her fellow Spider Janel Francis also saw success in the field events, as she also earned tenth in the triple jump.
The team will compete again this coming weekend, when they head to the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, California.
