Egizi Named A-10 Women's Lacrosse Rookie Honoree

Richmond women's lacrosse freshman midfielder Kim Egizi (Westwood, Massachusetts) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, the league announced today.
Egizi set a new career high with two goals last Wednesday as the Spiders defeated Old Dominion 15-8. She then matched that with two more goals in Friday night's 10-5 home loss to No. 15 James Madison. Her four total goals for the week came on just six shot attempts. She also picked up a ground ball in both games, and caused three combined turnovers defensively.
For her first collegiate season, Egizi is fourth on the team in scoring and goals, while leading the team in caused turnovers and tied for second in ground balls.
This is the first weekly honor won by a Spider this season.
Richmond (3-4) makes a West Coast trip this week to play next at Oregon, starting at 3 p.m. Eastern Sunday.
