UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The No. 19/20-ranked University of Richmond football team (2-1) returns to the field after a bye week to take on Maine (1-2, 1-0 CAA) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Robins Stadium looking to even the all-time series with the Black Bears.

National Ranking Streak
The Spiders are ranked 19/20 in the nation this week by both major polls, which marks the 18th consecutive week dating back to last season. Richmond was included in at least one of the major polls each week during the 2014 campaign, reaching as high as No. 8.
Have A Day
Junior LB Madison Day (6-3, 210 Midlothian, Va) had a career day vs. VMI (Sept. 19th). Day recorded 12 tackles while filling in for Omar Howard and returned an interception 23 yards and a touchdown. Day is a former lacrosse player for the Spiders who started seven games as a freshman for Spider lacrosse.
Keeping Up With Jones
DB David Jones (6-1 R-Jr, St. Petersburg, Fl.) equalled a career high with two interceptions, forced a fumble and recorded seven tackles vs. VMI. Jones has three interceptions on the season, which leads the CAA and is tied for third nationally. Jones is second in the CAA in passes defended with 1.33 per game.
Kyle Lauletta Surpasses Debut
Quarterback Kyle Lauletta set new career highs vs. Hampton in completions (20), attempts (32), yards (247) and set a career high with three passing touchdowns vs. VMI. Lauletta is currently third in the CAA in passing with 225.3 yards per game and in passing efficiency with a rating of 148.0.
Howard Hammers
LB Omar Howard has been a tackling machine for the Spiders in the first two games of the season. Howard recorded 10 tackles against Hampton and in the season opener vs. Maryland. With 12 tackles vs. Coastal Carolina in the playoff game last season, Howard recorded double-digit tackles in three straight games and is currently ninth in the CAA at 8.3 tackles per game.
Fisher Touchdowns
RB Seth Fisher's 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game was his 27th career score. Fisher moved into fifth place passing Stacy Tutt with the score. Fisher racked up the touchdowns last season for the Spiders. He finished third in the CAA with 16 total scores (12 rush, 4 pass) and also led the team with 777 rushing yards.
LAST TIME OUT
The Spiders were off last week, after rattling in-state rival VMI 42-10 on Sept. 19th. Ayo Ogunniyi and Madison Day each returned interceptions for touchdowns and David Jones picked off two Keydet pass on the evening while also forcing a fumble. Richmond scored 35 points off turnovers vs. the Keydets. That's the most points off turnovers for the Spiders since producing 32 vs. Rhode Island Oct 18th, 2014. 11 different Richmond receivers hauled in passes vs. VMI. The Spiders last did that on Sept. 13th, 2014 against Hampton.
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will mark the 26th meeting all-time between the two schools, with Maine leading the series, 13-12. Richmond last won at home over Maine in 2008 with a 44-17 triumph.
