Swimming & Diving Hosts Villanova Saturday on Senior Day
01/28/2016 | Women's Swimming & Diving
RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond swimming and diving team returns to action against Villanova in the Spiders final home meet of the season, Saturday at the Robins Center Natatorium. This will be Richmond's final prep before the Atlantic 10 Championship next month.
The team's four seniors (Molly McSweeney, Melissa Ross, Emma Terwilliger, and Kelley Yang) will be honored prior to the start of the meet.
This will be the fourth time in the last five years the Spiders and Wildcats have faced each other in the pool.
As the 2015-16 season winds down, the Spiders have posted solid marks in the pool. Ross won the 200 Fly at the Patriot Invite, while Yang posted the fastest time in the 100 Fly at James Madison just two weeks ago.
On the diving platform, junior Irina Chiulli has won nearly every program she has competed in this season, including posting a 310.90 in the 3m event at the Patriot Invitational prelims last month. Sophomore Laura Rokop won the 1m with a season-best 260.48 at George Washington.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m., and will be streamed live on the Atlantic 10 Network through SpiderTV, with fans obtaining a pass for 24 hours for the $4.95 fee.
