Spiders To Face Davidson In First Round Of A-10 Championship

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The University of Richmond women's basketball team (12-17, 5-11 A-10) will begin its journey for an Atlantic 10 Championship on Wednesday afternoon when it takes the Richmond Coliseum floor opposite Davidson (11-18, 5-11 A-10) in the first round at 4:30 p.m.
The Spiders finished in a tie for 10th in the league alongside Massachusetts, Rhode Island and the Wildcats of Davidson, winning three of their last five games of the season to catapult themselves into this position. Should the Spiders advance beyond Davidson, cross-town rival and No. 5-seed VCU will be the second round opponent. That game would take place on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.

The Atlantic 10 returns to the Richmond Coliseum for the third consecutive year and 2016 marks the fifth time in league history the Championship will be decided on a neutral floor.
First and second round games will be streamed live on the A-10 Network through the Atlantic10.com and A-10 mobile app. Friday's quarterfinals will be televised on the American Sports Network (ASN) as well as online on the A-10 Network. Saturday's semifinals will air live at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network, while Sunday's championship finale will be on ESPNU and streamed on WatchESPN at Noon.
