LAST TIME OUT
The University of Richmond women's basketball team (9-13, 2-7 A-10) battled Saint Louis (18-5, 8-2 A-10) in the first half of Wednesday afternoon's matchup but big runs in the second and fourth quarters by the Billikens made up the difference in this one as the home team was able to come away with the 73-48 victory.
Janelle Hubbard paced the Richmond scoring with 15 points, which included a 3-8 effort from beyond the arc and Bria Powell pitched in a season-high 12 points as the lone Spider to join Hubbard in double figures. As a team Richmond put forth its best effort of the season from the free throw line, going 10-10. Tuuli Menna returned from injury after missing 13 games and scored three points on 1-3 shooting, grabbed one rebound and blocked a shot.
ABOUT GW

She returned in the second quarter opposite SLU and contributed three points on 1-2 shooting from deep to go with one rebound and a block in 10 minutes of action. She will be a key piece for the Spiders down the stretch this season.
BRIA STARTS AND DELIVERS
This senior has been without her running mate, Lauren Tolson, for most of the season and struggled to find her stroke for much it but opposite Saint Louis Powell shook loose. She scored 12 points on 4-11 shooting and even attempted her first triple of the season. She also went 4-4 from the free throw line and added a steal in her third start of the season.
FREE THROWS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE
Richmond is 8-4 this season when it makes more free throws than its opponent, 0-9 when it does not and 1-0 when it makes the same amount. The Spiders have struggled from the line this season but have shown that if they can get to the line and convert more than their opponent, the success rate jumps up.
TOUGH STRETCH
The Spiders have reached the part of their schedule that will be the toughest test of the season. Beginning with the tilt opposite Duquesne, Richmond will play four consecutive games against the four teams currently ranked 1-4 in the Atlantic 10 standings. The Spiders travelled to St. Bonaventure (3rd) last Sunday, Saint Louis (4th) on Wednesday and welcome George Washington (1st) this Sunday.
