Spiders' Spring Game Set For Saturday, April 16

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Coming off a #3 final national ranking and a spot in the FCS Semifinals, the University of Richmond football program will host its annual spring game on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m. at Robins Stadium. Admission to the event is FREE!
All the information you need to know is below:
Parking
Lots will open at 10:00 a.m. for fans to recall the fun and festivities of Saturdays in the fall by starting the day off with a tailgate with all of their Spider friends. Parking is free for all fans, but tailgating passes are required to enter the B3 licensed lot.
Fans can pick up their tailgating passes at the Robins Center Ticket Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The passes will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fans are encouraged to park in lots B1, B2 and limited handicap parking in B4. The tailgating lot will be B3.
Stadium and Seating
Gates to Robins Stadium will open at 11:30 a.m. so you can check out the view from your 2016 season ticket and visit the Customer Service Kiosk to take advantage of the chance to win great Richmond prizes. Gates A,B and C will be open for fan entry.
Fans will only be able to enter the stadium through the West Concourse. Seating will only be available on the west side of Robins Stadium.
Tailgate Cookoff Challenge
This year will be the first tailigating cookoff challenge to find out who serves the best tailgating food at Spider football games. Richmond dignitaries will be out and about taste-testing samples from each participating group.
The winner will receive free access to a hospitality terrace at a 2016-17 men's basketball game.
Be sure to register HERE prior to Saturday's game.
Tailgate Display Challenge
Do you have the best tailgating center at Robins Stadium? Well prove it! Representatives from the athletic department will be out and about assessing the best tailgating setup prior to Saturday's Spring Game.
The winning group will receive two free 2016 football season tickets.

Spring Game
This year's spring game will be conducted as offense vs. defense and will consist of four 12-minute quarters. The game will feature a running clock with each team having three timeouts per half.
Scoring
The offense will earn points for first downs (1 pt), extra points (1 pt), two-point conversions (2 pts), field goals (3 pts) and touchdowns (6 pts). Defense will earn points for force punts (1 pt), tackle for a loss (1 pt), pass breakups (1 pt), missed field goals (2 pts), fourth down stops (2 pts), sack (2 pts), two-point conversion stop (2 pts), 3 and outs (3 pts), take aways (6 pts) and touchdowns (1 pt).
Halftime
At Halftime, Coach Rocco will be awarded his CAA Championship Ring by Athletic Director Keith Gill. Rocco will then present the captains for the 2016 season and the unveiling of the conference championship and NCAA banners in the stadium will follow.
Spider Sports Spectacular
There will be plenty of Spider action on campus on Saturday. Not only will the Spring Game be going on, but the Spider baseball team, who is fresh off a series defeat of Atlantic 10 leading Saint Louis will be taking on Davidson at 1 p.m. at Pitt Field, with an alumni gathering to follow.
Also, the men's lacrosse team, who reached as high as #18 in the national polls this year, will be hosting Bellarmine in a critical SoCon matchup that could lock up a spot in the SoCon Tournament for the Spiders. That will be immediately following the Spring Game in Robins Stadium.
