Three Spiders Named to All-State Second Team

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – After standout seasons on the field, University of Richmond women's lacrosse athletes Brooke Wilson, Kim Egizi and Mia Castagnero have been named to the VaSID All-State Second Team.
Wilson had a breakout senior season, earning All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team honors. The Ijamsville, Maryland native finished the season with 52 points on 37 goals and 15 assists. The midfielder also led the team in caused turnovers with 30 on the season, and finished second in the conference in caused turnovers per game with 1.56.
Egizi, the 2015 VaSID Rookie of the Year, also earned All-A-10 Second Team honors and earned conference Player of the Week honors twice during the season. The sophomore finished the season with a team-high 55 points on 37 goals and 18 assists. She also led the conference in ground balls with 50, averaging 2.78 per game.
Castagnero made an immediate impact for the Spiders in her first year, earning A-10 All-Rookie Team honors. The Apex, North Carolina native earned conference Rookie of the Week honors four times throughout the season. She led the team with 42 goals and third on the team in points with 48. The freshman also picked up 23 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers on the year.
