Houthalen Slips By Richmond In European Finale

HOUTHALEN, Belgium – Playing its best competition on the last day of the European tour, the Richmond Spiders came up just short in a 77-72 loss to Houthalen in Belgium.
Khwan Fore led the Spiders with a 20-point effort, shooting 8-of-10 from the field. He also grabbed seven rebounds with two steals.
Backcourt mate ShawnDre' Jones scored 14 points with a team-high five assists. T.J. Cline tallied a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Richmond outrebounded Houthalen, 40-38, and also held an advantage in offensive boards (12-11).
Marshall Wood scored 10 points with two big second-half threes and six rebounds, while Julius Johnson scored nine points.
The host team featured several players from the Belgian National team and jumped out to an early lead. However, Richmond used a 14-2 run that spanned halftime to tie the game on a Marshall Wood three-pointer.
The margin stayed tight for the remainder of the game and Richmond had a chance to tie in the final 20 seconds, but a three-pointer rimmed out and Houthalen hit free throws to preserve the final margin.
