Richmond Women's Cross Country Picked to Repeat as Champions

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Richmond Women's Cross Country team has been selected as the favorite to repeat as Atlantic 10 Conference Champions in a poll conducted of the league's 14 head coaches, the A-10 announced on Tuesday.
Richmond, the defending A-10 champion, returns three top-20 performers from last year's championship in Tara Hanley (4th), Courtney Thompson (11th place) and Amanda Corbosiero (16th place).
The Richmond men were chosen to finish 10th but return a talented group of upper classmen in All-Conference performers Matt McKenna and Alex Lucking to go along with Tim Gruber and a talented group of freshmen.
The 2016 Atlantic 10 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be hosted by the University of Richmond at Pole Green Park in Richmond, Va. on October 29. The Cross Country regular season begins on Saturday, September 3.
