Fifield Moves On In Canadian National Team Selection Process

OTTOWA, Ontario – Former University of Richmond women's lacrosse standout Caitlin Fifield ('13) continues to impress in the lacrosse world, and has been named as one of 41 players competing to represent Team Canada at the 2017 FIL Women's Lacrosse World Cup in Guildford, England.
Fifield will compete in team's next selection camp, the Team USA Fall Classic, which will take place at the US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, on October 8 and 9. The selection process began with 127 applicants, of which 79 were selected to participate in the team's first selection camp in August.
A standout attacker at Richmond, Fifield was a four-time All-Conference honoree and was named to the prestigious Tewaaraton Watch List as a senior in 2013.
The North Babylon, New York, native finished her career third all-time in career points for the Spiders with 229, while also finishing fourth in goals (127) and seventh in assists (55). She appeared in 70 games for Richmond, starting 66 of them.
After graduating from Richmond in 2013 with a degree in Sociology, Fifield went on to serve as an assistant lacrosse coach at Wagner for two seasons, where she also earned a master's degree in Education. She is currently in her second season as an assistant coach at Marquette.
