Two fifth-year senior captains highlight Thursday's Spider Sportsline when record-setting quarterback Kyle Lauletta and cornerback Tafon Mainsah join head coach Russ Huesman at Outback Steakhouse, 7917 West Broad Street from noon-1pm.
The program, now in its tenth consecutive year at Outback, airs live this, and every Thursday, during the college football season from noon-1pm on ESPN 950, espnrichmond.com and RichmondSpiders.com. An audio archive of each week's show is available in the on-demand section of the SpiderTV player and in the Audio Vault at espnrichmond.com.
Lauletta continues to rewrite the Spider record book, becoming the program's all-time career passing yards leader during Saturday's victory at Towson. He was 22-36 for 325 yards and two touchdowns. The Exton, Pa. native has now thrown for 9,076 career yards and 64 career TDs, both Richmond records. He has a string of six consecutive 300 yard passing games, and 14 in his career, both tops in Spider history.
Mainsah has recorded 27 tackles in six games, including one-and-a-half for loss plus an interception in the season opener against Sam Houston State which he returned 33 yards. He has made 20 consecutive starts and has appeared in 39 career games with 31 starts for the Spiders.
Fans, alums and corporate partners are encouraged to attend the live show at Outback. Listeners can call-in during the program at 804-521-8501. Emails, texts and tweets can be sent anytime.
