Spiders Travel to LaSalle for Sunday Afternoon Matchup

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.. - The University of Richmond women's lacrosse team is set to take on LaSalle in Atlantic 10 action on Sunday afternoon. First draw in Philadelphia is set for 12 p.m.
ABOUT THE SPIDERS
Richmond is coming off of a dominant 20-4 win over Duquesne on Friday to start Atlantic 10 play. Natalia Chaney scored five goals for the third time this season, as the Spiders scored 20 for the first time since 2013, and were just one point shy of the record, logging 33 in the win. The team's 13 assists tied the program record set back in 2012. Marissa Brown leads the squad with 36 points on 16 goals and 20 assists this season, while Chaney and Sam geiersbach ech have 33 points and Kim Egizi has 29. Goalie Megan Gianforte currently sits with a .519 save percentage, making 83 saves in cage and allowing just 8.56 goals per game.
ABOUT THE DUKES
LaSalle opened Atlantic 10 action with a 15-8 loss at George Mason on Friday. The Explorers are led offensively this season by Allee Ilgenfritz, who has 36 points on 28 goals and eight assists, while Toni Massetti and Brittany Edwards have also eclipsed the 20-point mark. Lynne Frankel has started all nine games in goal, allowing 16.30 goals per game, while the Explorers' trio of goalies have allowed 12.78 per game.
SERIES HISTORY
The Spiders are undefeated all-time against the Explorers, going 16-0 since the teams' first meeting.
A FORCE IN THE CAGE
Goalie Megan Gianforte is on fire this season and has earned A-10 Defensive Player of the Week twice for her efforts. The freshman is making her way up the national rankings, heading into the opening A-10 weekend with a .519 save percentage, the 10th-best in the nation, and allowing just 9.13 goals per game, which ranks 17th. Her 9.75 saves per game rank 20th in the country.
ROOKIE ON A ROLL
Freshman Sam Geiersbach is off to a hot start in her first season as a Spider. The attacker has scored 24 goals in Richmond's nine games this season, logging five hat tricks and going scoreless just once. The two-time A-10 Rookie of the Week is second on the team with 33 points.
QUEALLY DRAWS TO PROGRAM RECORD
Midfielder Caroline Queally became the program's all-time leader in draw-control wins with 160 in the Spiders' second game of the season against Virginia. The junior has now won 200 draws, and ranks seventh nationally among active players in career goals per game. She is just three draw-control wins from breaking the program record of 202.
EGIZI HITS THE CENTURY MARK
Junior attacker Kim Egizi scored twice and assisted on two other goals in the Spiders' season-opener win over Liberty to reach the 100-career point mark. The co-captain has now scored 74 goals and added 51 assists.
