Spiders, Espenschied Honored by IWLCA

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The accolades continue to roll in for the University of Richmond women's lacrosse team.
For the fifth straight year and sixth time in seven years, the team has been named a Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
Each program with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher earned IWLCA Academic Squad honors.
Senior Leslie Espenschied lead the charge with her second-straight Zag Sports IWLCA Academic Honor Roll nod. The recent graduate earned her degree in Business Administration in May, and became just the third Spider in program history to earn A-10 All-Academic honors in two consecutive seasons after doing so in 2016 and 2017.
The Spiders finished the 2017 season with a trip to the A-10 Championship game and a 14-6 overall record, posting the most wins since 2007.
