Atlantic 10 Announces 2017-18 Women’s Basketball Schedule Pairings

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference on Thursday announced the 2017-18 women's basketball conference schedule team pairings.
The league's 14 members will once again play a 16-game conference schedule in the upcoming season, which allows teams to face every opponent once and three teams twice. The complete 2017-18 conference schedule with dates and times will be announced at a later date.
The Spider have drawn home games against Davidson, Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham and Saint Louis and will hit the road to visit George Mason, George Washington, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure and Saint Joseph's. The three teams that the Spiders will both host and visit will be La Salle, Massachusetts and cross-town rival VCU.
During the 2016-17 season, the Atlantic 10 Conference had six women's basketball teams qualify for postseason play. It was the 12th consecutive year that the A-10 has had at least five teams compete in the postseason.
The 2018 A-10 Championship will feature six first-round games being played on campus sites on Tuesday, Feb. 27 before heading to Richmond, Friday, March 2 through Sunday, March 4 for the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship final games. The top two championship seeds will receive a bye, with the remainder of the field facing off in games hosted by seeds 3-8 for the first round. For the second consecutive year, the women's championship will place an increased emphasis on the regular season in a fan friendly format.
