Spiders Drop Friday Contest at #23 Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team was unable to overcome a powerful Virginia squad, falling 7-0 on Saturday afternoon in Charlottesville.
The Cavaliers swept doubles play, despite a tight contest on court 2, where Emily Dunbar and Dessi Zlateva fell in a tiebreak, 7-6 (1).
Virginia was able to win in two sets on courts 2-6, but Dunbar put up a fight at No. 1, winning the second set 6-1 after dropping the first. She ultimately lost in a tiebreak instead of playing out the full third set.
The Spiders return to action on Sunday when they travel to Williamsburg for the second time this spring season to take on William & Mary. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
