Women's Basketball to Host Davidson in First Round of Atlantic 10 Tournament

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's basketball team, with a win over George Washington on Saturday afternoon, secured the No. 8-seed in the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship and will host No. 9 Davidson on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Richmond will be looking to avenge a loss to the Wildcats in the Robins Center earlier this season for the right to face regular season champion and top-seed Dayton on Friday (Mar. 2) at 11 a.m. at the Richmond Coliseum.
This will be the first time that the Spiders will host a home game in this iteration of the A-10 Tournament. Last season was the first under the new format where the top two seeds advance to the quarterfinal at the Richmond Coliseum with byes while seeds 3-8 host seeds 9-14 on Tuesday. The quarterfinals will begin on Friday (Mar. 2) with the semifinals continuing on Saturday (Mar. 3) and the Championship game taking place at Noon on Sunday (Mar. 4). Last season the Spiders secured the No. 9 seed and lost its opening round contest at VCU.Â
