Egizi Earns Third Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- For the third time this season and fifth of her career, women's lacrosse attacker Kim Egizi has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week.
With the honor, she becomes just the third Spider to earn Player of the Week recognition three times in a single season, and first since Mandy Friend did so in 2008.
Egizi had a career weekend to lead the Spiders to a perfect 2-0 start to A-10 play. She scored four goals in Thursday night's 21-11 win over crosstown rival VCU, while collecting five ground balls, winning five draw controls and causing two turnovers. She then scored a career high eight goals and assisted one other for a career high nine points in Saturday's 19-11 win at Duquesne, collecting two ground balls and causing one turnover in the victory.
The senior won eight draw controls in the win in Pittsburgh to hit the 200 career draw control mark. She became just the third Spider to achieve the feat, and moved into second in program history with 207 career draws.
