Fazio, 4x800m Relay Team Pick Up Wins at Colonial Relays

Day 1 Recap
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Freshman Brooke Fazio continued her stellar rookie campaign as she won the 400m race on the second day of the Colonial Relays. The freshman crossed the line at 55.88, hitting an ECAC qualifying mark. Marshea Robinson clocked a 59.66 in the event to finish 40th overall among a deep field of competitors.
The 4x800m relay team of Maria Acosta, Marisa Ruskan, Claire Brown and Fazio won the Colonial Relays in a time of 9:01.77. The team now has the fastest time in the Atlantic 10 and the 11th-best in the NCAA.
Acosta placed third in the 800m as she also turned in an ECAC qualifying time of 2:08.80, just shy of an NCAA invite time. In the 3,000m steeplechase, Eryn Mills paced the Spiders finishing fourth at 10:47.07, also registering an ECAC mark. Brown (11:18.64) and Julia Willcox (11:49.75) also competed in the event. Peyton McGovern was fifth in the 5,000m as she turned in a time of 17:20.06. Colleen Carney (17:31.68), Kylie Regan (17:35.40), and Courtney Thompson (17:47.51) were close behind.
Nai'lah Rowe was the top Spider finisher in the 100m as she clocked a 12.52. Morgan Towe was close behind at 12.72. In the 200m, Towe represented Richmond finishing inside the top-50 in a time of 25.99.
Caroline Robelen led the Spider women in the 1500m as she crossed the line at 4:41.46 for 28th place overall. Marisa Ruskan finished just behind her at 4:41.83 in 32nd.
On the men's side Seamus Otto crossed the line at 2:02.65 in the 800m. In the 1,500m, Noah Yuro turned in a time of 4:04.39 while Will Alpaugh crossed at 4:09.05. In addition, Alex Lucking finished sixth in the 5,000, in a time of 14:41.58, which is an IC4A qualifying time.
