Eighty Student-Athletes Took Part In Commencement Ceremonies Sunday

RICHMOND, Va. – Eighty University of Richmond student-athletes took part in the 2018 spring commencement Sunday afternoon at Robins Center, with 77 earning undergraduate degrees and three being awarded graduate certificates. Sixty-seven total earned their degrees while another 13 took part in the ceremonies and will earn their degrees in August or December of this year.
The Spider football team had the most student-athletes take part with 19 in the ceremony, while men's lacrosse (nine), women's soccer (eight) and baseball (eight) were next on the list. Six women's lacrosse student-athletes earned degrees following by swimming and diving (six), field hockey (five), women's cross country/track (five), women's basketball (four), men's basketball (two), men's cross country (two), women's golf (two), men's tennis (two), men's golf (one) and women's tennis (one).
Women's cross country/track standout Kylie Regan earned one of the top honors in all of the University Sunday, being named the University Mace Award Winner (Norman Award). The Mace Award is named for the University's Outstanding Student. The winner will have a clear record of exceptional scholarly achievement and demonstrated leadership throughout their years at the University. Regan is a business administration major with a concentration in finance and economics.
