Spiders Finish Eighth In 17-Team Field
CANTON, Mass. – Senior Sophie DiPetrillo fired a four-over round of 76 Tuesday to finish sixth at the Boston College Intercollegiate with a 54-hole score of 225 (+9). It's DiPetrillo's second straight top-10 finish in the event after she tied for 10th last season with an identical score of 225.
DiPetrillo has now finished sixth or better in each of her two events this season after taking third at the season-opening Kingsmill Intercollegiate two weeks ago. As a team, the Spiders tied for eighth in the 17-team field with a cumulative score of 936 (+72).
"We had some stretches of good holes throughout this tournament," said coach Ali Wright. "We also learned we have some work to do around the greens and with course management to eliminate big numbers."
Senior Annie Collom carded a three-over 75 on Tuesday to jump 15 spots on the individual leaderboard and finish tied for 26th at 232 (+16). Sophomore Lizzie Reedy was two shots behind at 234 (+18) in a tie for 33rd.
Sophomore Ally Steffen played the par threes in two-under par at Blue Hill Country Club, best of any golfer in the field of 89.
Up next for Richmond is a visit to Pinehurst No. 1 for the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on October 8-9.
