Cross Country Ready for NCAA Southeast Regionals in Charlottesville

RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond cross country is back on the course this Friday as it will make the short trip over to Charlottesville for the NCAA Southeast Regionals at Panorama Farms, hosted by the University of Virginia. This will be the Spiders' second trip to the venue, having competed at the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational at the end of September. Richmond is coming off of a fourth-place finish on the women's side and a seventh-place men's finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships two weeks ago in Leesburg.
The women will start Friday's event at 10:30 as they will hit the course for a 6k race. The men will follow at 11:30 with a 10k race. The women will be running the same course as earlier in the season, while the men are adding an additional two kilometers for this week's race.
The Spiders will look to bounce back after a tough race at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships two weeks ago. The women were led by freshman Kate Dickow (Lititz, Pa.) who finished just outside of the All-Conference honorees. The next four Spiders in were grouped between 20th and 29th. Freshman Lily Snow (Richmond, Va.) was the next Spider to finish at 20th, senior Claire Brown (Erie, Pa.) added a 22nd place finish, freshman Anna George (Montville, N.J.) was 28th, followed quickly by sophomore Johanna Lupica (Richmond, Va.).
In the 6k-race at Panorama Farms earlier this season, Lupica paced the team with a time of 22:28.3, followed by Brown's time of 22:47.0. George added a 23:01.3 finish and Snow's 23:08.6 time earned her an 87th place finish. Dickow earned a 95th place spot with her time of 23:15.5.
On the men's side, Miles Clikeman (North Chesterfield, Va.) earned the team's lone All-Conference honor after finishing sixth at the A-10 meet two weeks ago. Clikeman finished his 8k race in 25:21.3 to earn the honors. At Panorama Farms earlier this season, Clikeman had a tough race, finishing a season-low 25th with a time of 24:45.7.
He was followed by Peter Borger's (Malvern, Pa.) 47th place finish with a time of 25:15.4. Trey Burleson (Moseley, Va.) added a time of 26:02.6, followed by James Flanagan (Danville, Calif.) at 26:13.3. Noah Campbell (Montpelier, Va.) will also be competing in Friday's race. Campbell will be competing in his first collegiate 10k race after finishing 58th at the A-10 Championships.
