UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Spiders sophomore Lizzie Reedy was selected to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference announced Thursday. It's the second straight year Reedy has received an All-Academic honor. She was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team last spring following her freshman season.
Â
As a sophomore, Reedy continued her stellar play on the course, posting a scoring average of 76.57 strokes for the second straight year and becoming the Spiders leader in career scoring average. She recorded six top-20 finishes and three top-10 finishes, including a tie for sixth at the season-ending Patriot League Championship, earning Second Team All-Patriot League honors.
Â
In her two years at Richmond, Reedy has now earned four different All-Patriot League awards: First-Team All-Patriot League and Most Outstanding Freshman in 2018 and Second-Team All-Patriot League and Academic All-Patriot League in 2019, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Reedy is a business administration major with a concentration in finance at Richmond's Robins School of Business.
Â
In order to be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a golfer must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and key player on her team. This is the second straight year Richmond has had a golfer on the five-member team. Annie Collom was an academic all-conference selection in 2018.
