Clikeman Wins Men's Individual; Women's Team Takes Mason Invitational

LEESBURG, Va. – Richmond Cross Country turned in another solid showing Friday afternoon at Oatsland Plantation in Leesburg as the women took first in the seven-team five-kilometer race. The men's team finished in second place as senior Miles Clikeman (North Chesterfield, Va.) took the top spot by nearly 14 seconds.

The women ran the first race of the afternoon as freshman Kate Dickow (Lititz, Pa.) finished her second cross country race in third place with a time of 18:33.5. Johanna Lupica (Richmond, Va.) and Claire Brown (Erie, Pa.) followed with eighth and ninth place finishes, respectively, turning in times of 18:53.3 and 18:53.6. Another rookie in Anna George (Montville, N.J.) came in 12^th with a 19:06.1 time and Lily Snow (Richmond, Va.) closed the scoring with a 17^th place finish, running in 19:14.4.

Clikeman and sophomore Peter Borger (Malvern, Pa.) were the first two finishers in the men's eight-kilometer race. Clikeman finished the race in 235:31.4 and Borger crossed the finish line in 25:45.2. Noah Campbell (Montpelier, Va.) was the third Spider to finish, coming in in 12^th place with a time of 26:15.9. Paul Knepple (Point Pleasant, N.J.) and Patrick Sutphin (Mechanicsville, Va.) came in 13^th and 14^th to help the Spiders take second place. Knepple finished in 26:18.2, and Sutphin finished in 26:19.4.
